Okay, so we don’t have forests full of trees turning all shades of amber and gold. But we do have the following:
Indian Summer: Just when you thought you could wear the new cashmere turtle neck under the plaid jumper, it turns 80 degrees. Enjoy it by having a mid week picnic in Golden Gate Park. Stop at Andronico’s on Irving Street for huge sandwiches and a couple beers in a plain brown bag to go. When? Now.
THE JUNIOR LEAGUE HOME TOUR: This annual event raises money to support community programs that benefit K-12 education. This year’s tour is in Pacific Heights featuring homes on and off Broadway. What a wonderful chance to see inside some of San Francisco’s most beautiful homes while supporting a deserving cause. Every year a different neighborhood is featured. When? Saturday, September 30.
SHAKESPEARE IN THE PRESIDIO:: This free event is a great way to relax with friends al fresco while soaking in some culture. When was the last time you saw The Tempest? When: Sunday, September 24.
OUR FAVORITE BAKER: Ernest Weil, of Fantasia Bakery Fame, will be signing books at Books Inc., 3515 California St. (Laurel Village). When? Saturday, September 30, 2-3 pm.
KCSM91 JAZZ RADIO FALL PLEDGE DRIVE: We are so lucky. We have one of the last 24 hour jazz stations left in the country. NO commercials. Ever. And over 70% funded by member’s dollars. For as little as $41.00 you can help support this endangered species. Turn off the TV and turn on the jazz.
