I am constantly dazzled by the creativity that entrepreneurs display everyday. We love the Internet for making the world a smaller place and for getting the world out to like minded enthusiasts. And being a self-employed entrepreneur myself, I empathize with the amount of determination and courage it takes to put yourself and your ideas on the line. To say not only ‘yes, I can do this’ but to show up everyday and walk the walk. Here are a few San Francisco entrepreneurs that I would like to recognize. All have taken an interesting idea that they came up with themselves and ran with it. Bravo!
The Cheese School of San Francisco
Sara Vivenzio arrived in San Francisco last year from New York City. She knew she didn’t want to continue her advertising career here but she did know she loved cheese. This is the result of that passion. And, yes, The Culinary Muse will be teaching a class on how to taste chocolate here on October 19.
Courtney Cochran provides personalized services to wine collectors and enthusiasts. She also runs a special events company called Hip Tastes where she offers wine tastings to San Francisco’s stylish young things.
Boriana’s store in the Ferry building contains a glorious assortment of food from her home of Montepulciano in Tuscany. Think of it as the pantry of the Italian grandmother you never had.
Our gal, Marcia Gagliardi, keeps the local Establishment food press on its toes. Her thoughtful, smart and witty assessment of the San Francisco and Bay Area food scene is a welcome breath of fresh air. I doubt that any local restaurants have her picture posted at the front door saying she isn’t welcome.
And not in San Francisco:
Chris Reynolds has combined his many talents and offers them all up on this beautiful website. I love that he also provides a food photography service which can be done completely on-line. So clever!
Bravo, indeed! K, I applaud your creativity and am grateful for your resourcefulness...I never fail to learn something new here!
